Haven Cider

The story of this happy collaboration began 5 years ago, in 2011. Potter’s had just opened for business, selling—in our humble but spot-on opinion—the finest craft cider east of the Mississippi (and west, for that matter). The Haven was just a year old. A fortuitous conversation was had (over cider), and Potter’s cofounders, Tim Edmond and Dan Potter, offered to provide their marvelous Farmhouse Dry blend at The Haven’s first annual Harvest Dinner. The rest is, as they say, history. Potter’s has been pouring cider at nearly every one of The Haven’s fundraising events ever since.

Which brings us to the present: about 3 months ago, the Potter’s crew approached us with the idea to extend and expand the partnership. Andy Hannas of Potter’s asked if we might be interested in having our own “Haven blend” cider—in the spirit of the Trappist Abbey beer-making tradition—with proceeds going to support the day shelter. We were ecstatic! Potter’s then presented the concept to their phenomenal woodcut artist, John Lackey, and asked if he would create a special label for this new Haven blend. And this is what he came up with…

We think you’ll agree—it’s magical! In fact, you have the opportunity to purchase this original print at our art auction at Old Metropolitan Hall on Friday, December 4 from 5-8 PM, as well as sample the new blend. You can also preorder bottles and cases of the Haven cider blend. Enjoy this wonderful artisan cider in support of a wonderful cause!

We are so grateful to the entire Potter’s team and feel lucky to call them friends.
